*This talk has been approved by New York State for 2 hours of Continuing Education Credit for LCSWs, LPs, LMSWs and LMHCs and 2 Contact Hours by the American Psychological Association for Psychologists.

In this talk Frances LaBarre, PhD., will demonstrate temperament as a dimension of body-based relational life that can create far reaching challenges between parent and child. What can be learned in observing parents and children also applies to all dyads, in particular patient and therapist. This presentation will focus on how the recognition of temperamental differences and similarities informs the meaning of the immediate interaction of patient and therapist and reaches to the past, and will touch on the integration of the literature of temperament and movement theory with psychoanalytic thought..
