The very qualities that make lust ecstatically pleasurable also make it a source of potential trouble. In the same way that attachment theory has revolutionized our understanding of relational emotional development, evolutionary biology is also key to our sexuality. Biological and psychological factors that shape sexuality will be presented in a coherent framework that can illuminate our understanding and our clinical work. Some of the topics covered include internet porn, the waning of desire, BDSM, fantasies, the forming of kinks, objectification and self-objectification, the role of power dynamics.
