About the Program

Take Your Psychoanalytic Thinking Further

Clinical Journeys 2 builds on the foundation of Clinical Journeys 1, offering a deeper exploration of how psychoanalytic theories and techniques have developed over time.

Through PPSC's Evolution of Technique course, you'll join current psychoanalytic candidates to examine the ideas, debates, and clinical experiences that have shaped contemporary psychoanalytic practice.

Seminars connect theoretical perspectives with everyday clinical work, encouraging thoughtful discussion and greater flexibility in how you understand and approach your patients.

What You’ll Study

Each trimester examines a different aspect of psychoanalytic clinical work, moving from the therapist's experience to the therapeutic relationship and broader clinical understanding.

The Origins and Evolution of Technique

Trace the development of psychoanalytic methods and explore how different theories have influenced and challenged one another.

Expanding the Scope of Psychoanalysis

Examine how evolving clinical realities, ethical considerations, and social perspectives have broadened psychoanalytic thinking about who can benefit from treatment and how.

Contemporary Clinical Approaches

Explore how these developments have shaped different schools of psychoanalytic thought and consider their applications to your own clinical practice

  • "I found PPSC’s Clinical Journey’s program when I had been working in a community based DBT program two years post MSW. I was craving more depth in my work, but not finding guidance for how to get there through my non profit’s evidence-based frameworks. I signed up for Clinical Journeys, worried that I didn’t have enough education in psychoanalysis to keep up. Luckily, it more than satisfied my craving for depth, and while challenging and often brain-bending, I was able to keep up-in spite of my lack of experience and coursework in psychoanalysis. Clinical Journeys provided a much-needed foundational shift for me, a sort of missing piece to my clinical work, and has inspired me to continue to pursue psychoanalytic training."

    -- Meagan, CA

  • "Clinical journeys provided me with a space to think psychoanalytically with others. Readings provided nourishment and food for thought. Working online enabled me to access this high quality programme. You won’t regret starting this journey!"

    -- James, U.K.

  • "Clinical Journeys... increased my case conceptualization skills and bolstered my clinical work with patients. The teachers were available and caring. I highly recommend CJ for its academic rigor for a nominal cost."

    -- Stephen, NY
