The Tint Family
Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship

PPSC recognizes that the field of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy has historically and systemically been dominated by a white, European, cisgender, heteronormative lens and has excluded the perspectives of both practitioners and patients of diverse experiences. Though the field’s frame has expanded to include previously ignored and overlooked identities, there is still a woeful deficit, particularly in relation to ethnicity and race difference, class, and trans/nonbinary gender identity. These exclusions have resulted in the erasure and marginalization of much of human experience from the field. The Tint Family Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship aims to concretely and manifestly change this reality within PPSC and the analytic community at large.

The scholarship is available to a current or new candidate who is a member of a historically and currently underrepresented group in the analytic community, namely Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, as well as those of immigrant, trans/gender nonconforming, and low income and working class experience.

The funds will cover tuition for up to 24 classes in PPSC’s 3-year program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy or 4-year program in psychoanalysis. Other training costs, including personal supervision and analysis, registration fees, and costs of texts will still be the candidate’s responsibility. New candidates must be accepted through the regular PPSC application process. You will be informed of your scholarship amount, if any, upon notice of acceptance to PPSC.

The application for the scholarship is integrated into the general application form. Please indicate your interest in being considered for the scholarship on your application for admission.
