PPSC’s Programs

PPSC offers a one-year certificate program in Child and Adolescent Therapy including work with parents. The program offers 60 CE credits. Both agency and private practice clinicians at all stages of professional development are eligible for this training.

The Clinical Journeys one-year certificate program is an engaging “taster” of psychoanalytic models that will help you make sense of what you’re already seeing and doing, while honing your personal, clinical style. In each seminar, students learn to apply useful psychoanalytic concepts and frameworks to situations we encounter each day.

Three Year Program: Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

PPSC’s Three-Year Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy provides licensed candidates with a thorough academic grounding in psychoanalytic theory, drawing from contemporary Freudian, modern, object relations, interpersonal, relational, intersubjective and self psychological schools of thought.  This close study of theory and technique is deepened by psychoanalytically-based supervision and the candidate’s own personal analysis.

Like our Three-Year Program, PPSC’s Four-Year Program in Psychoanalysis consists of courses in contemporary Freudian, modern analytic, object relations, relational and self psychological schools of thought. But in the fourth year of the program, advanced integrative seminars and advanced special electives further deepen the candidates’ learning. We believe that psychoanalysis continues to be a rich and thorough technique to relieve and improve mental health symptoms, and to promote the attainment of self-knowledge for a vital and productive life. Classes can be taken on either a full-time or part-time basis.

As in our Three-Year and Four-Year Programs for licensed professionals, PPSC’s Psychoanalysis License Program provides high-quality psychoanalytic training to non-licensed candidates from allied mental health fields, as well as other master’s level individuals who are committed to intensive training in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
